Fine Pewter
Fine pewter is at least 88% tin, alloyed with antimony, copper and zinc. Fine pewter will tarnish with time. It can be polished occasionally with a commercial polish available in most markets and hardware stores. Pewter is a relatively soft metal, and can be filed with a nail file.

Brass-Plated Pewter
These pewter knobs have been brass-plated and then lacquered to be tarnish resistant. Do not clean with harsh chemicals or abrasives. They can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.

Bronze
Our bronze handles and knobs are cast in the traditional lost wax method. They have been waxed to help protect the finish. They will gradually darken to a deep bronze hue. Do not clean with harsh chemicals or abrasives. They can be wiped clean with a damp cloth, or lightly waxed and buffed with a very soft cloth. Call for advice if you have any questions.

Sterling Silver
Our sterling silver handles and knobs are cast by the traditional lost wax method with the addition of a new alloy which greatly slows the tarnishing process. They will gradually tarnish and require an occasional polishing with a commercial silver polish.
